Women’s History Month is a time to acknowledge and celebrate the contributions of all women in the risk management and insurance industry, including those that have broken down barriers and inspired innovation. Studies have shown that women outnumber men in the insurance industry and companies that have more gender diversity on their executive teams are more profitable when compared to companies without. While great progress has been made in gender equality, there is still a long way to go to ensure that the lived experience of women in the industry is heard and understood and that diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging remain a priority in company policies and practices.
