David Tobias is the co-founder and chief operating officer of Betterview, an InsurTech provider of actionable property intelligence to property and casualty (P&C) insurance companies.
In his role as COO, Tobias oversees day-to-day operations at Betterview and consistently identifies ways to make the company more efficient for clients and employees.
Top P&C insurance companies depend on the Betterview Property Intelligence & Risk Management Platform to identify and mitigate risk, improve operational and inspection efficiency, and build a more transparent customer experience throughout the policy lifecycle. By empowering insurers to automate pricing, underwriting, and renewal while focusing strategic action on critical properties, Betterview is moving the insurance industry from Repair and Replace to Predict and Prevent.
Tobias has been in the insurance industry all of his life. His father founded Research Specialists Insurance Inspections (RSII) over 50 years ago, and Tobias took over the company in 2010. He spent 17 years as president, growing it into a national company working for some of the largest U.S. insurance companies, in the process. RSII is a pioneer in providing underwriting and loss control inspections for insurance companies nationwide. With a vast inspector network and rich background in underwriting and risk control, the company specializes in commercial inspections and utilizes advanced technology to provide fast, detailed reports.
Tobias holds a B.S. in Business Management from the University of Arizona. When not working, he volunteers on the board of Healthy Plant U.S., a company that works to develop a range of innovative ways that individuals, schools, communities, and businesses can get involved in making our planet healthier, from our customized school garden programs to our social-food fusion events. Tobias also consults in strategic planning and goal setting, contributing to overcoming setbacks and challenges, providing support for business development and corporate strategy, assisting in creating revenue streams, and attending quarterly board meetings.
