Christopher Snyder is a visionary, seasoned professional, with 20-plus years of experience in the life insurance industry. In 2002, his company, Spectrum Direct, brokered the first 100% digital, direct-to-consumer, online life insurance policy. Coining the name “e-commerce life insurance,” he has been using digital technology as the driving force behind product development, marketing programs and delivery systems in the life insurance vertical ever since.

He is currently focused on the eLife Platform, “Life Insurance for the Digital Age.” With eLife, qualified applicants can get all of the following in 15 or 20 minutes: instant price quote, online application submission, real-time approvals, e-signature, policy issue and electronic premium payment to put the policy in force. The policy document can be printed immediately by the customer. This can be achieved with or without the services of a licensed agent or broker. Various eLife term insurance options provide a wide range of coverage amounts and age brackets. Premium rates are more affordable than the vast majority of other non-medically underwritten term life products.

Life insurance sales and marketing programs under his leadership to date have produced more e-commerce life insurance sales than any other. This has been accomplished in cooperation with HSBC Insurance, Fidelity Life, Liberty Life, Inviva and others. Snyder has also been called upon by New York Life, AIG, GE Capital, Nationwide Life and other major financial institutions for assistance with product development and national marketing programs. He has led his company onto the Inc. Magazine 5,000, List of America’s Fastest Growing Companies four times. He is a recipient of Fidelity Life’s “George V Award” as well as the Small Business Development Corporation “President’s Award.”

Snyder has spoken at the Society of Actuaries National Meeting, the Enrolled Actuaries National Meeting, the Institute for International Research and the International Business Forum. He is a charter member of the Life Insurance Direct Marketing Association (LIDMA). In addition, Snyder has received the Chartered Life Underwriter professional designation, as well as the Chartered Financial Consultant professional designation from the American College.

He received his bachelors degree from Gannon University, is a member of the board of trustees there and serves as a mentor for technology startups at the Erie Technology Incubator. He recently served as a judge in Pennsylvania’s Ben Franklin Technology Partners “Technology Business Plan Competition.”
