Mel Schlesinger

Mel Schlesinger entered the insurance business in 1984 selling life insurance at the kitchen table. In 1985 he was introduced to the employee benefit field as an enroller for Section 125 Plans. Over the next 30 years Mel has been directly and indirectly involved in employee benefit marketplace. In 2003 Mel completed the Certified Guerrilla Marketing Coach program and began working as a sales coach to benefit professionals.

In 2015 Mel recognized that employers had a problem that no one was addressing and saw a new opportunity. Working with both telemedicine and health care advocacy he began building a new business helping employers lower costs and improve employee morale and productivity. Today Mel is the National Sales Director for MedCallPro, an innovator in providing telemedicine solutions.

Mel has written numerous columns in industry journals and is a sought after speaker and trainer for insurance agents in the employee benefit marketplace. His list of leadership positions include: president of the Coastal Association of Health Underwriters, 2002-2003 president of the North Carolina Association of Health Underwriters, 2011-2012 president of the National Association of Health Underwriters and was the 2015 – 2016 president of the Triad Association of Health Underwriters.
