Dr. Mark Farrell is a fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (FIA) and senior lecturer at Queen’s University Belfast. He is program director of actuarial science and risk management at Queen’s Management School, where he has successfully led the development of actuarial science education since moving into academia in 2009. He previously spent 10 years working as a pensions actuary in London, Toronto, Belfast and Dublin.
Farrell has a PhD in finance, and his research interests include enterprise risk management and insurtech, as well as other actuarial science-related fields. In 2017, Farrell undertook a Fulbright research scholarship at Arizona State University researching the impact of wearable technology on insurance premiums.
