Bridget Hagan is a partner at the Cypress Group, an advisory and advocacy firm in Washington, DC, specializing in financial services. She is the head of the firm’s insurance practice, in addition to supporting the firm’s banking and other financial services clients.
In her role at the Cypress Group, Hagan advises clients on financial services issues before Congress and the regulatory agencies. She founded and is the executive director of the Insurance Coalition, a group of insurers that successfully advanced the first substantive change to the Dodd-Frank Act. Her expertise includes insurance and banking regulation, life and property and casualty product issues and insurtech and autonomous vehicles. She is a frequent writer and speaker on insurance and technology and is on the editorial board of Fintech Law Report.
Prior to joining Cypress Group, Hagan was head of Nationwide’s Washington, DC, office of federal government relations, where she led the internal team responsible for implementation of the Dodd-Frank Act. Prior to her tenure at Nationwide, she also worked at the American Academy of Actuaries and on Capitol Hill for a member of the House of Representatives.
Hagan is a cum laude graduate of Harvard University and holds a bachelor’s degree in government. She is a magna cum laude graduate of Georgetown University Law Center and is licensed to practice law in Virginia and Washington, DC.
