A Managing Director of Private Capital Corporation, Bryan Golden has broad experience in management of manufacturing enterprises in both public and private firms, and previously founded and operated his own manufacturing company. He was a founder of one of the earliest and largest Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) companies in America, created through a leveraged buyout, and participated in establishing and managing this $95 million spin-off of a division of a well-known multi-billion dollar industrial company. He holds a B.S. in Engineering from Seattle University, a M.S. Systems Management from USC and a certificate in e-Commerce Management from San Jose State University. He is also a certified consultant for The One Page Planning and Performance System™, a unique online application for improving corporate planning, management synchronization and performance accountability.
At Private Capital, he specializes in the company’s unique Comprehensive Perpetuation Planning (CPPTM) process, assisting clients in developing tax efficient ownership and management succession plans, often employing the use of an ESOP to create a path to tax favored liquidity for owners, and/or the company’s proprietary Management Stock Ownership Plan (MSOPTM), to create equity based incentives for key management. He is a frequent speaker at ESOP Association and National Center for Employee Ownership (NCEO) events on these subjects.
A business generalist for most of his career, he has accumulated in-depth expertise in general management of business units of both large and small corporations, industrial sales and marketing management, engineering project and program management in major capital construction projects and manufacturing quality management. He has broad experience in restructuring operations, creating and managing new businesses and establishing marketing and sales operations, both direct and indirect, worldwide. His experience includes extensive international business management and travel.
He has also been active in the U.S. Army, recently completing 30 years of service, having risen to the rank of Colonel. During this “other career,” he commanded units at the Platoon, Company, Battalion and Brigade level and was called to active duty to serve in Bosnia for 9 months. During this period, he was the Chief, J-9 directorate in the Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe (SHAPE) Joint Operations Center with responsibility for Civil Military Planning for NATO Supreme Allied Commander Europe, U.S. Army General Wesley Clarke.
Prior to Joining Private Capital Corporation in 2000, he was Vice President of Sales, Marketing and Technical Services for a capital equipment manufacturer, serving the global packaging, product assembly, graphic arts and converting industries.
