Jim Whetstone is US Technology and Privacy Manager at Hiscox, the international specialist insurer. In this capacity, Mr Whetstone manages the technology errors and omissions and the privacy and data breach insurance products and underwriting operations in the US.
Prior to joining Hiscox, Mr Whetstone underwrote the professional liability product suite as an Assistant Vice President in ACE USA’s Professional Risk division, where he specialized in technology and privacy insurance. Prior to joining ACE USA, Mr Whetstone was a Vice President in Aon’s Technology and Professional Risk group. Prior to working in the insurance industry, Mr Whetstone spent more than ten years in various technology-related roles in both traditional and new-economy industries, including with Andersen Consulting, Rockwell Automation and the internet startup, Webvan.
Mr Whetstone received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. He specialized in a logistics program that combined requirements from the highly regarded business and engineering schools, and graduated with high honors.
He is based in Hiscox’s Chicago office.
