Jennifer Weathersbee

Jennifer Weathersbee has been the Director of Claims for InterWest Insurance Services since joining the organization in 2003. With a strong belief that claims can be successfully managed using a proactive and comprehensive problem-solving approach, Jennifer oversees the Claim Services Department at InterWest, which provides claims consultation services for key clients, including those in alternative risk programs.

A graduate of the University of California at Davis, Jennifer has over 20 years’ experience in the workers’ compensation and claims industries. Having worked for a Joint Powers Authority, a national insurance carrier and a Third Party Administrator, Jennifer maintains a vast industry experience with an emphasis in the construction, food services, agricultural, healthcare and transportation industries.

Jennifer has a strong technical expertise as well as a background in education and training. In 1998, Jennifer was selected as one of eight claims personnel to work with Anderson Consulting in Chicago in the development and roll-out of Reliance Insurance Company’s proprietary claims management software. In 1999, Jennifer traveled nationwide providing training for their software and best practices.

As a claims supervisor for Cambridge Integrated Risk Services, Jennifer managed the workers’ compensation claims for a large statewide foodindustry program and served as the corporate trainer for California where she was tasked with educating employees and supervisors in labor code changes, case law and claims best practices. Jennifer has a strong passion for education and in 2009 she created the InterWest Employers’ School which currently provides claims management, loss control and human resources education for InterWest clients. In addition, Jennifer serves as a guest speaker for several industry associations including CalPASC, California Grain & Feed, Grower-Shipper, APMA and AgSafe Associations.

Jennifer holds her Workers’ Compensation Claim Professional (WCCP), Associate in Claims (AIC) and Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) designations and is currently working on her Certified Risk Manager (CRM) designation. Jennifer resides in Rancho Murieta with her husband Chris and her son, Jayden.
